Beer Bread

I like bread.

I like homemade bread.

I’m also very lazy.

That’s when this recipe was created. I had found several different beer bread recipes online long ago, and it took me a while to get the measurements down when I veganized them. Now this is a great go-to bread when I have beer I don’t care for or just want warm yummy bread.

Beer Bread


  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 T baking powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ¼ cup maple syrup or agave (I used agave)

  • 1 can/bottle 12oz beer (I used an IPA)

  • ¼ cup Earth Balance buttery spread


Preheat oven to 350.

Use 1 T of the Earth Balance to grease the bottom of your bread pan (9x5x3 pan).

In large bowl, wisk flour, baking powder, salt. Slowly pour your sweetener of choice in. Slowly pour beer in.

Pour or scoop mixture into greased bread pan, spread out (it's pretty sticky and thick). Top with the remaining buttery spread (melt first if you're a bit OCD about it being evenly dispersed, but it's not necessary).

Bake for 45-55 minutes (could vary on which sweetener or beer you used). Check done-ness with knife or toothpick.

Let sit 5 minutes before serving.

It should pop out of the pan with ease, if you so choose!

Add nut butter, jam, or buttery spread or go plain and bask in the beer bread greatness.
